Event regulations

1.1 VENOM KARTING CUP Edition 1 is a karting competition held with rental karts (leisure), open to all motorsport enthusiasts.
1.2. The organizer of VENOM KARTING CUP Edition 1 is S.C. Mat Sport Sibiu S.R.L. Based in Sibiu, Lavandei Street no.2, tax code RO48431059; Website www.venomkarting.com; email: office@venomkarting.ro
2. Admitted Drivers
2.1. Each driver must be at least 16 years old on the day of the race. Organizers, the Venom Karting team, and their first-degree relatives will not be admitted as participants.
3. Referees
3.1. The term “referee” includes the following functions that will oversee the race:

4. Participation Fees
4.1. The fee amount is 390 RON/participant.
4.2. Payments can be made at the Venom karting strack on Stefan cel Mare Street no. 169 in cash or by card. A driver is considered registered for the stage upon payment confirmation. Registration is done from June 20-30, during Venom Karting's schedule.
5. Sportsmanship
This competition aims to promote sportsmanship and good mood not only within each team but also among all participants. Any driver, legal representative (in the case of minors), parent, friend, supporter associated with a driver must behave in a civilized manner throughout the competition, otherwise, the Organizer reserves the right to penalize the driver.
6.1. The driver is obliged to inform this regulation to each  companion, as well as to legal representatives (in the case of minors), parents, friends, supporters associated  with him.
6.2. Each participant must comply with the competition regulations and the organizer's instructions throughout the competition;
6.3. Drivers must always respect the signals of the referees and LED indicators.
6.4. Any form of aggressive driving resulting in collisions between karts is prohibited. The Organizer understands and accepts accidental collisions, but deliberate ones will be sanctioned.
6.5. Drivers are not allowed to drive on the track in the opposite direction at any time during the competition;
6.6. Drivers cannot enter the track from the access lane without the referee's approval;
6.7. It is forbidden to apply stickers on the equipment provided by the organizer (kart, helmet);
6.8. Drivers are prohibited from consuming alcohol or substances prohibited by law throughout the competition. The Organizer will not allow a driver under the influence of alcohol or substances prohibited by law to start.
7. Sports Equipment
7.1. Birel Art N-35 electric karts (rental).
7.2. The kart with which a team's driver will compete cannot be chosen. It will be provided by the organizers through a random process so that no driver can choose a specific race kart.
7.3. Each driver will wear the following equipment during the competitions (while in the kart): full-face helmet (fastened under the chin) with visor, balaclava, long pants, closed shoes (excluding flip-flops, sandals, etc.). Drivers with long hair are required to tie it in a ponytail, and the ponytail must be fully covered by the helmet. Clothing with hoods or other accessories that can get caught in moving parts is not accepted;
7.4. The use of open-face helmets is prohibited.
7.5. The use of phones or remote communication devices to contact the driver in the kart is prohibited;
7.6. Equipment verification will be carried out by referees at the beginning of the competition, as well as at any time during it. The Organizer may refuse the driver's start or stop him during the competition if he does not comply with technical and sports standards. Drivers must immediately comply with these provisions. The finding made and the decision taken cannot be contested;
7.7. Any modification of the kart (pressure adjustments, etc.) made by drivers is prohibited both in the pits and on the track;
7.8. During the sessions, the driver whose kart presents technical defects that may endanger safety is obliged to leave the track on his own initiative or at the signaling with a black flag with orange by the referees. The driver has the right to re-enter the circuit after the defect is remedied;
In the event of a defect that makes it impossible to move the kart, the driver is obliged to remain in the kart until instructed by a referee. The kart and driver will then be brought back to the stands by the organizer. The driver will take a new race kart from those available in the change area and continue the race.
8. Competition Structure
8.1. Each competition day consists of: administrative checks, briefing, 2 free practice sessions, 2 qualifying sessions
8.2. During the administrative checks, each driver's documents will be checked (form signing, equipment)

■ 19.00 – 19.30  : administrative checks + briefing
■ 19.30 – 20.30 – free practice sessions
■ 20.30 – 21:30 – qualifying
■ 21:30 – 22:00 – Results officialization

NOTE: the schedule is indicative and may be modified depending on
the particularities of the moment

8.4. Schedule July 07

■ 17.00 – 17.30  : administrative checks + briefing
■ 17.30 – 18.30 – Semifinals
■ 18.30 – 19:00 – Last chance
■ 19:30 – 20:00 – Cup final

9. Briefing
9.1. Meeting organized by the organizer with all participants registered in the competition
9.2. General security notions, as well as those specific to the circuit used, important points from the Regulations and Competition Program, will be presented, and aspects related to other situations that may arise during the competition will be clarified
9.3. Attendance at the Briefing is mandatory. Delay or absence from the briefing will be sanctioned. Participants will sign for attendance in a table provided by the organizers.
10. Free Practice
10.1. They will take place over two sessions of 8 minutes each

11. Qualifications
11.1. The qualifying session will take place over two sessions of 8 minutes each.
11.2. The ranking resulting at the end of the qualifying sessions (the best time on a lap will occupy position 1, and the worst time on a lap will occupy the last position) will determine the starting grid for the semifinals.

11.3. From each competition day, the top 5 fastest competitors from the 2 qualifying sessions will qualify for the semifinals, regardless of which of the two sessions the time was achieved.
NOTE:
1. in the case of equal times, the second time of the driver in question will be considered.
2. in the case of equal times, the third time of the driver in question will be considered.
12. Semifinals

12.1 Two semifinals of 8 minutes each will take place and will be held in the form of a race.

12.2 The top 3 finishers from each semifinal will qualify for the grand final.

12.3 Places 4-7 from each semifinal will qualify for the “last chance” race, which will take place over 8 minutes in the form of a race.

12.4 The top 2 finishers from the “last chance” race will also qualify for the grand final.

13. Race
■ It will have a length of 30 laps
13. Start from the grid based on the times from the semifinals (the fastest lap of each semifinalist)
13.1. Drivers who will start must present themselves at the starting line at least 10 minutes before the start time, according to the schedule announced by the organizers. Access to the track will no longer be allowed when there are 10 minutes left until the start time.
13.2. Karts whose drivers did not present themselves at the start 10 minutes before the start time will be removed to the pit lane, and late drivers will be allowed to start the race after the start has been validated by the organizer, and the last kart on the starting grid has crossed the start/finish line. Access to the track will be allowed by a referee by signaling with a green flag.
13.3. The start will be given by the Race Director by turning on the green light
13.4. Any anticipation of the start will be sanctioned with a drive-through
14. Stopping a session
14.1. If the track is blocked due to an accident or other dangers require stopping the session, the Race Director may decide to stop the respective session (practice, qualifying, race) by displaying the red flag.
14.2. At the red flag signal, all karts will immediately reduce speed, avoiding chain collisions through sudden braking, and will head towards the pit lane
14.3. The session will resume as follows:
■ Practices and qualifications - will resume if the remaining time is sufficient to complete at least one lap
■ The race will resume with the starting order of the lap completed before the red flag was displayed and will only resume if there are at least 2 laps left until the end.
14.4. The resumption of a session (practice or qualifying), as well as the race, will be decided by the organizer
15. Race Restart
15.1. The restart time will be announced by the organizer
15.2. The starting order will be that of the lap before the red flag was displayed
15.3. The restart will be from a standstill;
16. Race Neutralization
16.1. If the Race Director decides to neutralize the race, all karts will automatically run at a restricted speed, overtaking being prohibited
16.2. During the neutralization, the race time will not be stopped, and pit entries will be allowed
17. Finish
17.1. The end of the race signal will be given on the finish line with the black and white checkered flag, immediately after the kart leading the pack completes the lap, respectively crosses the start/finish line:
18. Signals, Flags
18.1. Red flag: represents the stopping of practice, qualifying, or race. It can only be decided by the organizer
18.2. Black and white checkered flag: Signifies the end of the session or race. It is presented agitated;
18.3. Black flag and notification (display) of the competition number: is used to inform the driver in question that he must stop and immediately take the kart to the pits. If the driver does not comply with this signal, this flag will not be shown for more than 3 consecutive laps. The decision to present the black flag is the exclusive competence of the Sports Commission, and the team in question will be immediately informed about this;
18.4. Black flag with orange disc (40 cm diameter) and notification (display) of the competition number: is used to warn a driver that his kart has developed technical defects that pose a danger to him or other drivers and that he must stop in the next lap in the repair area. The driver can continue the race after the defect is remedied. The black flag with an orange disc will be shown twice consecutively, and on the third pass, the black flag will be shown;
18.5. Black and white flag (halves joined diagonally) and notification (display) of the competition number - this flag is presented following an unsportsmanlike action, and the Sports Commission may apply a penalty; it can be presented at any time during the race for: not respecting the referees' signals, hitting from behind, changing the trajectory with the intention of hindering other drivers, as well as in other situations decided by the Race Director;
18.6. Yellow flag: is a danger signal and will be presented to drivers in two ways:
■ a single agitated yellow flag: slow down, overtaking is prohibited, be ready to change direction. There is a danger on the edge or part of the track;
18.7. Green flag: indicates that the track has been cleared and will be presented agitated at the monitoring post after the one where one or two yellow flags were used. It will also be used at the initiation of practice, qualifying, and the formation lap at the start (in case of restart).
19. Protests – Appeals
19.1. Any participant has the right to file a written protest with the Venom organizer (fee of 200 lei, refundable in case of acceptance of the protest);
19.2. Referees will not take note of verbal appeals and protests;
19.3. Appeals can be filed at any time during a session or race, but no later than 10 minutes after the end of a session or race.
19.4. Each penalty applied will be displayed and communicated to the driver
20. Offenses – Penalties – Sanctions
20.1. Non-payment of fines before the start of the next session (practice, qualifying, or race) results in the exclusion of the respective drivers from the competition;
20.2. The Sports Commission may use video systems for decision-making
20.3. The Sports Commission may impose any penalty for situations not provided for in this regulation
20.4. Any decision of the Venom sports commission is final.
20.5. Decisions of the Race Director or the sports commission cannot be contested.
20.6. Sanctions can be cumulative
20.7. Sanctions:
Offense Sanction
A. Offenses committed in practice and qualifying Downgrade on the starting grid
(3 positions, send the crew to the last position, or disqualification depending on the severity)
B. Anticipated start STOP&GO
C. Deliberate collision STOP&GO
D. Overtaking on a yellow flag STOP&GO
E. Any disregard of referee signaling STOP&GO repeated disregard may lead to disqualification
F. Failure to perform the STOP&GO penalty within 3 laps of display disqualification from the race
P. Delay or absence from the briefing. Delay 100 lei. Absence 200 lei
Q. Violations of sportsmanship Stop&go, penalties in laps, time, disqualifications, or fines depending on the decisions of the Sports Commission
20.8. STOP&GO – if a driver has been penalized with a STOP&GO penalty, it will be presented at the start/finish line with a board on which STOP&GO and the kart number will be written. The stop can be made at any time in the next 3 laps in the area specially arranged for STOP&GO, then the driver will re-enter the race.
20.9. The STOP&GO penalty must be executed within 3 laps of display. If the respective driver has not executed the penalty for 3 laps after signaling, on the 4th pass of the start/finish line, the black flag will be displayed, equivalent to disqualification from the race. In the last 5 minutes of the race, the STOP&GO penalty will be replaced with a 1-lap penalty.
20.10. Penalty laps will be deducted at the end from the total performed by the respective team, and the final order will be determined based on the resulting number of laps
21. Responsibilities (minors, other persons)
21.1. Minor drivers (under 18 years old) can participate in the competition only with the written and signed consent of a parent or legal guardian;
21.2. The organizer disclaims any responsibility towards any physical person who is in an area incompatible with their status throughout the competition, as well as towards those who do not respect a referee's instructions.
22. Award Ceremony
22.1. The following will be awarded:
■ the top 3 drivers from the grand final
22.2. At the award ceremony of the respective stage, the presence of all drivers who will be awarded is mandatory.
23. Regulation Obligation
23.1. The provisions of this regulation are considered accepted without reservation at the time of registration in the Venom Karting championship for all participants.
23.2. The organizer reserves the right to complete or modify the competition regulations at any time by posting the new one on the competition website.
